How can I pay?
Currently
there are two methods. nochex is preferred. With nochex
you can use your credit/debit card to pay for your order.
The other method is by sending a
cheque/postal order by post. Please make cheques payable to "Special Moment", we also accept postal
orders. Sending cash by post is not advised but will be accepted. You choose
your payment method when going through the checkout process, if you want to pay
by bank transfer then choose the cheque by post option and contact us for
details of paying by bank transfer. [top]
What does postage and packages
cost?
P&P for the UK and rest of Europe
is free of charge, we do not currently delivery to outside of Europe.
Please see Pricing & delivery for more details. Delivery
in the UK is normally by first class post, unless over a certain value which is
done using special delivery.Delivery to Europe is by Airmail Printed Papers or Airsure
Printed Papers. [top]
How can I get an answer to a question that is not featured here?
If cant
find an answer to a question you have, please feel free to either email it to
info@specialmoment.co.uk or fill in the
contact form [top]
How can I submit my photos?
By
uploading them, emailing them, or by sending them to us by post.
Our
preferred method is by using the upload section of our website, its very easy
to do, and ensures your calendar is created in the quickest time possible.
If you
would rather email them
then please send them to
info@specialmoment.co.uk and quote your name and order number.
You can
also send your photos to us by post, either on a compact disc, or the actual
photos themselves so we can scan them.
If there is
another method you would like to use then please email us to discuss it, quite
often it can be arranged. [top]
I want to send
my photos by mail, will I get them back?
Of course,
we will send your photos back along with your calendar(s). Although we cant
give a guarantee they wont get damaged in the post, we do our best to ensure
they are packed safely. Because of the sometimes inconsistencies of our postal
system, we recommend using our web based upload system.
If you
decide to send your photos on compact disc or other media we will also return
them along with your order.

Are my personal data and
photos secured?
We use
nochex for online transaction, which is very safe, click
here for information about the security of nochex.
After you upload
your photos to our secure server, we will maintain your photos in our archive solely for the purpose of producing any replacement or additional
calendars for you. We will never use your photos or allow them to be used for
any other purpose.
We should add that we reserve the right to refuse to print anything we consider
to be obscene or offensive.

What format should I make the
photos?
Save your
files in jpeg (jpg) format please. When saving as a jpeg, always try to use a
high quality setting. With jpegs, a higher quality setting means a lower
compression ratio and a bigger file. A low quality setting is often an
acceptable way to reduce file size when saving for the web or for e-mail.
However, when that low-quality image is printed at high resolution the defects
become very apparent. Different applications have different scales for setting
the quality level: low-med-high-maximum; 1-12; 0-100, etc. Whatever the scale,
the quality setting for your images should be near the top end of the scale
(high or maximum or above 70). This should result in a file size of between 300k
and 1.2mb.
Your
photos should be at least 640 * 480 resolution. At least 1024 * 768 is
recommended.
Please try to use photos of
roughly the correct dimensions for the style of the calendar.

Will I get to see
the calendar before it's printed?
Yes, our
unique calendar design section allows you to see exactly how your calendar will
look. You can also download the
calendar to the PDF format to view or print it. [top]
What kind of paper is used?
We use satin photo quality
180gsm paper, not too shiny as this looks unprofessional,
but not matt enough to look dull. It is possible to write on with a biro if you
need to and it certainly makes the most of your photos. The paper used is subject to change, but will also be of high quality.

How is the calendar bound?
For
binding we use 8 mm white Rexel wire binding rings. Wire
binding is much better quality than plastic and allows
smooth page turning.
I would like my calendar to feature something, but there are no options for it,
can it be done?
Quite
possibly, when making your order there is an option to include notes for your
calendar. If it's something simple then include it as a note, and we will do our
best to carry it out, you will get to see a proof to make sure it's to your
satisfaction. If your request is quite complex then please email us to see if
it's possible. [top]
Will I be charged
a fee for my photos being scanned?
There is no charge for scanning photos. [top]
How long will it take
to make the calendar?
Please
allow 3-5 days in total for production and 1-2 days delivery. You will normally receive your calendar within
6 working days of placing the order. [top]
Most other places selling personalised calendars have minimum orders and setup
costs, how can you offer the calendars so cheaply?
We have
very small overheads.
We believe
many people only want 1 of a particular kind calendar and not several, so we
dont ask for minimum orders.
Setup costs
are included in the price. We believe you will be so happy you will want to
order from us again, and we rely on returning customers. Also, our automated
systems do a lot of the work in terms of adding in the details you supply us for
the calendar. The main thing we need to do is make sure that your photos look
great. [top] |
